Face to Face Mentoring

Education Level: Elementary (Middle School starting ‘09-‘10 school year)

Program Sites: West Gresham, Powell Valley, Hogan Cedars, Kelly Creek, Dexter McCarty, Gordon Russell

The Face to Face project will rely on your skills and experience to help students become more successful in their lives and at school.  Mentors are matched with 5th grade students to provide social, emotional and academic support as they transition into middle school. Volunteers will meet with students at various times during the school day and will work with MFS and school staff to maximize their positive impact.  The project focuses on improvement in reading and math scores, as well as overall school connectedness.

MFS also has opportunities for professionals and engaged community members to serve on the steering committee for the project.
