Employment Opportunities

When looking for a job remember that most local employers place ads online and sometimes in newspapers.  If you are not sure about what is available, search 'jobs with....' and then put the company name.  This will normally bring up opportunities in your local area.  Often there will be a link directly associated with that specific position.

Many students often do not have very much actual working experience.  If this is the case for you, think about what volunteer roles you have had (baby sitting, mowing the neighbors lawn, being a camp counselor, or helping at your church or with a charity) as well as characteristics you demonstrate that an employer might be looking for in their employees.  Sometimes it makes sense to write a resume showing these experiences and traits - especially when this might be your first actual paid position.
