Announcements: Schedule Corrections

Welcome to the 2024-2025 School Year! We hope you enjoyed a restorative summer!

GHS Counselors have been actively working to ensure students have an appropriate schedule. Students have the ability to submit error notifications via the Schedule Correction Form directly to their school counselor.

As a reminder, due to a robust forecasting process that happened in March and scheduling constraints, students are not allowed to change electives. We are only able to make schedule corrections. The following are examples of corrections we are able to make: an Error, a "See Counselor", or a major extenuating circumstance change. If you changed your mind, didn't research a class, etc. We are not able to make a change. Our extensive forecasting process that happened last spring was to ensure the classes you selected were firm.

We encourage you to make the best of your situation. You will have the chance to learn something new and experience new things. This class might not be your first choice, but we hope it will broaden your knowledge and skills. 

Students & Caregivers are reminded of the following regarding the opening of the year and the schedule change process:

• The first priority is to serve students who have a missing period (hole in schedule) or have a “See Counselor” noted as a course title in their schedule.

• Schedule corrections will be made to meet specific core academic needs and/or to fulfill graduation requirements.

• Changes to schedules will not be made to obtain a different teacher, rearrange class periods, or switch elective choices.

• Counselors respond to requests to either approve, deny or gain more information, using the student’s school email addresses. Students must attend their schedule as listed in StudentVUE until the schedule request has been approved.

We know that students can have enriching experiences in all GHS classes and look forward to the weeks ahead!
