Credit Recovery

School Counselor approval is required for all forms of credit recovery. 

Please complete the online form for credit recovery and your School Counselor will verify your courses.  Each class shall be verified and approved by your School Counselor.
 
Credit recovery Options:
  • Summer School (Link to registration and information will be posted close to summer)
  • Online Credit Recovery - Edgenuity (only during school year with School Counselor Approval)
  • Twilight (After School) Credit Recovery (only during school year with School Counselor Approval)

    • November 10th - March 6th 

    • 3:00pm-5:30pm (each class will meet just ONE day a week) If you enroll in two classes, you will have two classes/two days each week.

What options are approved for credit recovery? 
 Note: all credit recovery must be approved by your school counselor prior to registration in the course. Signing up for a course without approval may result in not receiving credit.
o   Gresham High School programs: Edgenuity, Flex, Twilight Programs and Gresham Summer School
  • See your School Counselor to sign up
o   Metro East Web Academy (MEWA)
o   Brigham Young University (BYU):
  • Sign up through their website after approval from your school counselor: is.byu.edu

Approximately how much does credit recovery cost?
o   GBSD sponsored credit recovery is free. 
o   MEWA, MHCC, BYU and other outside credit recovery options cost between $50-300

What is the first step you need to complete before signing up for credit recovery?
o   Talk with your School Counselor 

How soon after failing a class should you do credit recovery?
o   As soon as possible, don't wait! 

How many credit recovery classes can you take in a year?
o   As many classes as you need; speak with your School Counselor on what they would recommend. 

What do you need to do if you fail a credit recovery class?
o   Don’t give up!  Talk with your School Counselor to sign up again 

Which classes qualify for credit recovery?  
o   Only classes you have failed

Can I take credit recovery for a "D" grade?
o   Talk with your School Counselor for options on how to make a grade improvement
