Things To Know Before Arriving at the Graduation Ceremony
DATE, TIME, & LOCATION
- The Gresham High School (GHS) Graduation Ceremony will take place on
Tuesday, June 10, 2025 from 8:30 PM - 10 PM. - ADA doors open at 7:30 PM; general doors open at 7:45 PM.
- The event will be held at the Veterans Memorial Coliseum located at 300 N Ramsay Way, Portland, OR 97227.
PARKING & TRANSPORTATION
- On-site Parking: Three parking garages are available: East, West, and Garden.
- Parking Fee: $10 per vehicle. Payment is accepted via card or Apple Pay at garage entrances.
- Public Transit: The venue is also accessible via Tri-Met bus and light rail.=
ENTRY REQUIREMENTS
- All guests are required to present a graduation ticket for entry into the event.
- GHS staff members may gain free entry by displaying their GBSD-issued badge with photo identification.
SECURITY & BAG POLICY
- For everyone's safety, security personnel will be at all gates to conduct bag checks. Only small purses and bags (not exceeding 16"x16"x16") will be permitted. All bags are subject to a visual search upon entry.
- The following items are not allowed inside the event center: balloons, outside food and drinks, wrapped presents, bull horns, beach balls, or noise makers.
ADA ENTRY & ACCESS
- ADA entry is at Gate 10 (the furthest gate to the left when facing the building).
- One companion may accompany an ADA guest, subject to available space.
- ADA doors open at 7:30 PM.
INTERPRETING SERVICES
- Interpreting services will be available to guests in Spanish and Russian.
- Guests can check out a headphone at the Ticket Booth near the front entrance.
GUEST SERVICES
- The Guest Information Booth is located at “Entry CC.” Event staff will be there to assist you with questions, wheelchair escorts, lost & found, and other inquiries during the event.
GRADUATION PROGRAM
- This year, we are excited to offer a digital graduation program, accessible directly from your smartphone or device. This comprehensive program provides all ceremony details, from graduate names to event schedules, helping us save on printing and promote a more sustainable celebration.
- For those who prefer a physical copy, a limited number of printed programs will also be available for your convenience.
LIVE STREAM
- For those unable to attend in person, we are pleased to provide live streaming of the graduation ceremony. This new offering allows extended family and friends to share in the celebration, wherever they are.
- Please note that this is a new system for us. We will follow up with specific instructions on how to access the live stream in a separate communication.
GRADUATION PHOTOS
- Lifetouch Photography will be on-site to capture special moments throughout the ceremony. Information on how to access and purchase these photos will be provided to students and families upon entry as well as through ParentSquare.
- Families can also order ceremony pictures after the event by texting '90738*' and using code '56524GY25.'
GRADUATES ARRIVAL & DISMISSAL
- Graduates participating in the ceremony should arrive at the Coliseum no later than 8 PM and enter through the lower level doors at Pine Court.
- After the ceremony, graduates will pick up their diplomas in the Georgia Pacific Room and meet their family and friends outside in the courtyard.
PUBLIC TRANSIT
The Rose Quarter is conveniently located next to two MAX Light Rail stations. The Rose Quarter Transit Center is located on the red, blue and green lines and is located south of the arena. The Interstate/Rose Quarter station is located on the western side of the Rose Quarter campus and serves riders on the yellow line. Please note that the Free Rail Zone no longer exists, and a valid fare is required everywhere. Tri-Met also operates several bus lines which serve the arena.
DRIVING DIRECTIONS
From I-84 Westbound:
Follow signs to I-5 N Seattle, take Rose Quarter exit. Turn left onto NE Multnomah (2nd light). Turn right onto N Interstate (3rd light including pedestrian crossing light.) Enter parking garages as directed.
From Hwy 26 Eastbound:
Take I-405 North/Seattle exit, take Everett St Exit, exit right on Everett St, proceed straight over Steel Bridge, left on Interstate Ave (1st light), enter parking garages as directed; or take I-405 North exit proceed to I-5 South exit, from I-5 South take Rose Quarter Exit, proceed straight through 2 lights, enter parking garages as directed; or Take I-405 South exit, proceed to I-5 North, from I-5 North take the Rose Quarter Exit, left on Broadway (2nd light), left on Vancouver Ave (2nd light), proceed straight, enter parking garages as directed.

Date: Tuesday, June 10, 2025; 8:30PM
- Location: Veterans Memorial Coliseum, 300 N Ramsay Way, Portland, OR 97227
- Tickets: Each graduating student can invite 10 guests to the event. Students are given 10 tickets after they have turned in their Check Out form to the bookkeeper. At the time of turning in their checkout form, students can request additional tickets through a Google form with the bookkeeper (maximum of additional 5 tickets). Only ticketed guests may enter the graduation site – a ticket is not required for small children seated on laps. Per arena entrance guidelines, attendees are required to move through a metal detector and agree to a visual bag search. No balloons or wrapped packages are allowed in the building. Evening event parking is available on the North Side of Memorial Coliseum in the West and East garages for a fee. The arena is also accessible via public transportation.
- Graduation Rehearsal: A mandatory rehearsal for graduating students will take place on the morning of the event to familiarize them with the ceremony proceedings. Memorial Coliseum parking is free during the morning practice only.
- Dress Code: Graduating students are requested to adhere to the specified dress code for the ceremony. Details on attire guidelines have been communicated at the senior meeting via slide deck and in the senior newsletter.
- Photography: LifeTouch will be present to capture special moments during the ceremony. Details on how to access and purchase photographs will be provided pre and post event.

Seniors Please remember to request letters of recommendation at least four weeks in advance from your counselor. This includes recommendation forms for the military, SENDedu and Common App. forms. Please see your counselor with any questions.
