Early Childhood Education Program Overview

Gresham High School's Early Childhood Education Program provides students with a variety of skills and knowledge related to early learning and education. Students observe and teach early learners at the school's Center, study child development, guidance and career opportunities. This program encourages students to deepen their understanding of teaching and child professions through community contacts and experiences. A partnership with Eastern Oregon University allows students to earn college credit while in high school. This program provides a valuable foundation for future careers in education, child and family services, and early child development.

Julianne


Julianne Standish has been teaching at Gresham High School since 1995, but started her teaching career in Washington in 1991. She graduated from Oregon State University with a Bachelor's Degree in Home Economics Education, now referred to as Family and Consumer Studies. She also earned a Master's Degree in Curriculum and Instruction. She has a passion for training young people to work in the early childhood field which focuses on children ages birth to eight. Positive guidance and professional skills are two areas that she finds important for student's futur - as a worker and as a parent! Julianne has been married to her best friend since 1990 and have two sons who are both adults.
